Not long ago, a new type of delivery of orders to Russia appeared on iHerb - the service SPSR Express. I sent my last few orders from iHerb through them. I’m very pleased with this service, even if the tracking of parcels is slow at the moment. But this is not so important, because they deliver very quickly - even faster than. In this article I will tell you in detail about the features of ordering and delivery through SPSR Express.

In general, when SPSR first appeared on iHerb, I didn’t understand why they were added, since the cost was calculated higher than that of Boxberry - not only for my city, but in principle for many settlements that I checked. The conditions are the same:

  • term 1-3 weeks(arrives in my Moscow region within a week),
  • maximum order amount 150$ and weight no more 5 kg.
  • Delivery costs are calculated depending on the amount and weight of the order.

However, at the moment, ordering delivery from iHerb using the SPSR Express service has become even more profitable than Boxberry. Moreover, a strange thing, their courier service is also cheaper than to delivery points and parcel terminals. Still, a wonderful thing is competition! 🙂 In general, if Boxberry doesn’t do something, a massive outflow of iHerb buyers to SPSR is inevitable.

Update: Boxberry started doing something. 🙂 Now there is often a promotion for free delivery to their pick-up points without any additional extra charges (usually for order amounts over $60). And in such periods I choose them again.

A huge advantage of SPSR Express is its own courier delivery service. Boxberry uses other companies for these purposes. Therefore, firstly, they are not so flexible in setting tariffs and are unlikely, in principle, to ever surpass the SPSR. Secondly, from the moment the parcel ordered through Boxberry arrived in Moscow until it was delivered to me, it usually took 2-3 business days. SPSR is delivered immediately the next day after arrival. Parcels go to Moscow at the same speed.

So, now in detail about placing orders from iHerb via SPSR Express, tracking and receiving them.

Arranging delivery via SPSR Express

In the shopping cart on the iHerb website, select one of two options:

  • SPSR Courier delivery.
  • SPSR Dispensing Points.

In the next step, you need to provide information for customs and the courier.

The form has not yet been fully translated, but the “passport number” should not raise any questions for non-English speakers. By default, “Passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation” is selected in the drop-down list - that is, our internal passport. But you can also indicate other documents, which, first of all, will be useful for non-Russian citizens who want to order something from IHerb to Russia.

The list includes:

  • Identification card or military ID.
  • Sailor's passport.
  • Foreign passport (either this is a field for our foreigner, or for foreign citizens who want to order to Russia, or both).
  • Temporary identity card of a citizen of the Russian Federation.
  • Residence permit in the Russian Federation.
  • Passport/identity card of a citizen of Kazakhstan.

If you previously chose courier delivery, then after entering the data for customs, indicate the address where to deliver (or select from those previously specified).

If you have chosen delivery to a pick-up point, then in the next step you will need to find your locality in a special field, after which a map with pick-up points and parcel terminals will open.

Another advantage of SPSR Express is a wider network of points to receive your parcel. While there is only one Boxberry dispensary in my city, and it only appeared recently, SPSR offers as many as 4 options.

After this step, the transition to choosing a payment method and the payment itself occurs, which I described in. Here I will further tell you about tracking.

SPSR Express Parcel Tracking

I did not use SPSR Express delivery to pick-up points and parcel terminals, because for some reason it is more expensive than courier delivery to your home (or office), and at the same time, it is less convenient for me personally. However, there should be no difference in terms of tracking the parcel.

The transition to information about the movement of the parcel is carried out, as with delivery by the Boxberry service - through the link in the letter from iHerb that the order has been sent, and from the order history in your personal account. Then the differences begin.

Initially, a not very informative page of the iHerb website opens. And only when you click on the SPSR Express tracking number, you are taken to their website with more detailed information about the parcel.

And here the alarmists will be tested. For about 5-6 days, the order is in the status “Waiting for arrival in the country of destination (recipient).”

Fortunately, on the 6-7th day the parcel does arrive and quickly passes through all authorities. And the courier delivers it to you the very next working day. 🙂

At the same time, 2 SMS messages arrive on the phone:

  • the first about the arrival of the parcel with the delivery date, as well as a link to manage delivery - in case it is more convenient for you on another day;
  • the second is that the order was issued to the courier - directly in the morning on the day of delivery.

If the order arrived late in the evening, as was the case for me the first time, then in the morning both SMS messages will arrive at once, one after the other.

That's it, wait for the courier. Despite the fact that I live 100 km from Moscow, the courier arrives at my place around 11 o’clock in the morning.

Overall, SPSR Express is a great delivery service. For orders from iHerb, I now only use it (at least as long as it is cheaper than other methods), and I recommend it to you.
