Planning Motivation Control

I'm looking for a non-sales job. Where should owners of not very promising professions go? From system administrators to IT corporation employees

Despite the difficult economic situation, it is much easier to find a decent job in Moscow than in any other city in our country. Therefore, many citizens go to the capital to get the income they need to live. In this article we will talk about where to go to work during the 2018 crisis in Moscow and how to find a good promising vacancy.

Where to look for work?

In order to find, you can use different sources:

  • Internet;
  • Labor exchanges.

Recently, many citizens of our country are looking for work on the Internet. On the Internet you can find many offers from different companies and organizations. Therefore, if you have not yet decided where it is better to go to work in Moscow, try looking for a suitable option on specialized employment sites. Prepare your resume and keep a close eye on new vacancies. As soon as a suitable offer appears, immediately call the employer and arrange an interview with him.

If you find several vacancies, do not rush to apply for a job on the first offer. Maybe you can choose a more attractive job with a high salary and good conditions. But, at the same time, you should not get too carried away with the search, as this may negatively affect your reputation.

You can get the answer to the question of where to go to work in 2018 at the employment center. The main problem is that labor exchanges offer vacancies that most often do not meet the requirements of applicants. Therefore, if you want to find a good, well-paid job, rely on yourself.

Work without experience

According to the results of recent sociological surveys conducted in the capital, many potential employers are ready to hire employees without work experience. They can offer you special testing developed by company specialists. If you are looking for where to go to work in Moscow without experience, believe in yourself and start looking for available vacancies. Attend interviews, confidently answer all questions and you will definitely succeed.

The easiest option for men who do not have any specialty is general laborers at construction sites, wholesale warehouses and various warehouses. Such professions are not very attractive to people, especially young people, but at the same time they guarantee a decent, stable salary. If you are not afraid of hard physical work, you can get a job, for example, at a large construction site. During the crisis, people, as in a stable economic environment, continue to build and renovate houses, so you can find a vacancy in this area at any time.

Catering establishments

If you're looking for a place to work without a degree, try getting a job as a bartender or waiter in a cafe. There are many different establishments in the capital where you can have a snack and a cup of coffee, so finding such a job will most likely not have any problems.

Of course, many coffee shops operate at a frantic pace, so you will have to work hard to earn money. But there are also advantages. Some companies offer their employees official registration and a full benefits package. In addition, in many prestigious institutions, staff undergo free training in advanced training courses. Sometimes bartenders are sent abroad so that they can exchange experiences with their colleagues from other countries.

Trade

This is a huge field of activity in which any person who is looking for where to go to work during the 2018 crisis can choose a suitable option. Most often, applicants are not required to have experience or any special knowledge. Salaries for sales workers are average, but many citizens of our country are quite happy with it.

There is also the other side of the coin. Some companies have too much staff turnover, and these can be both small companies and large retail chains. Almost everyone knows about this, but, no matter what, they go to work in trade. Your best bet is to find a job in a grocery store, supermarket, or pharmacy.

Government agencies

If you are not afraid of a small government salary, you can get a job in a kindergarten, school or any other social institution. This is an ideal option for specialists who are interested in where they can go to work with education. Many young people who have recently graduated from university are attracted by stability, legal security, and all kinds of guarantees.

But some experts believe that not everything is so optimistic in this area. In their opinion, yesterday’s graduates most often get jobs in government agencies. Basically, they find their way into government agencies through labor exchanges or find employment on their own in order to gain experience. In addition, government agencies employ many employees who are over forty. These are people who cannot get a job in commercial organizations due to age restrictions, so government agencies are the only way out of the situation for them.

Jobs for girls

As you know, it is much easier for men to find work than for women. Employers doubt whether the fairer sex has enough strength for intense active work, so they most often give preference to men. In addition, a woman may not be able to cope with stress or go on maternity leave.

Let's try to figure out where a girl can go to work in the capital? In principle, any profession is suitable for women - lawyer, doctor, computer engineer, etc. Some girls easily master even typically male professions. It is much easier to get the job you want if you have some professional skills.

If you do not have special education, you can use one of three methods:

  1. Take training courses to master a certain specialty;
  2. Try to get a job in a profession that does not require any special skills;
  3. Make useful contacts with people who can help you find a job.

The most popular professions for girls are secretaries, managers, accountants, sales representatives and lawyers.

Employment for youth

Young people don't have to worry about where to go to work in Moscow. Many companies are happy to hire young people with on-the-job training.

Without work experience you can take the following positions:

  • Shop assistant;
  • Cashier;
  • Telephone operator;
  • Manager.

If a young person shows his best side, the company management will definitely pay attention to him, which means that broad career prospects will open up for the employee.

Many young people who come to Moscow for the first time to earn at least some money get jobs as promoters. They hand out promotional items in busy areas. Each employee must distribute a certain number of leaflets per day. Sometimes promoters wear special suits to attract people's attention. In the center of the capital, there are often walking hamburgers or hot dogs that invite hungry passers-by to visit a specific establishment.

Another common option where to go to work without experience is in a courier service. Almost every company needs such employees. If you don’t want to travel all over Moscow every day, you can find a job as a district courier. In this case, you will deliver within a specific area.

Entrepreneurship

If you can’t find where you can go to work in Moscow, try becoming an employer yourself. Of course, not every person has an entrepreneurial spirit, but if you still have it, you can organize your own business.

This option is perfect for citizens who are wondering. If you don’t have start-up capital, you can take out a loan from a bank or try to get free financial assistance from the state. The most important thing is to choose the right direction of activity. In Moscow, almost all niches in the market are occupied by experienced entrepreneurs, so if you decide to open your own business, you need to be prepared for fierce competition.

Free profession

For many residents of the capital who are interested, an alternative option may be to make money on the Internet. If you want to work from home, think about what you enjoy doing and then carefully explore all the possibilities. The most important thing is your desire, and there will always be work.

How to find a job in Moscow? Without experience. No connections.

People who have certain skills or knowledge in programming, design, or self-education can become freelancers. This is where in the work chain there are only the performer and the customer who hires him to perform a certain job. You can start writing texts, translating or developing program codes. The more tasks a freelancer completes, the higher his rating. Along with the rating, client confidence grows, as does the specialist’s remuneration. If you cannot find a suitable option, choose a freelance profession.

  • If you want to take a good vacancy, you need to first inquire. Be clear about what salary you want to receive and what position you are applying for. In addition, you should note in your resume where you previously worked, had an internship, or attended additional courses. Focus employers' attention on your personal qualities and capabilities;
  • During the interview, you may be asked questions that relate to your professional skills. To pass such a test with dignity, collect as much information as possible about the chosen position and prepare approximate answers;
  • Before the interview, carefully study all the employer's requirements for the applicant. If you have any questions about work, it is better to ask them by phone;
  • To get a well-paid job, you need to have a Moscow residence permit. In principle, registration in the Moscow region will do. If you do not have the opportunity to register in the capital or region, try to resolve this issue at an interview.

How to find a job as a sales manager without experience?

According to statistics, 93% of vacancies mention experience. If you admit that you don't have it, your chances will decrease by 93%. Are you ready for this? If you are ready, think again about whether working as a sales manager is worth it. To dispel your doubts, go through and determine your sales predisposition. If the test shows that you are a future sales star, and you answered the 93% question in the negative, read on. Otherwise, I recommend leaving the site. It is only for born sales stars and will not help mediocrity.

So, let's go back to the “no experience” line on the resume.

You have options:

- Just come up with this experience. How to do this is written in the article

- Get this experience. Get a job in the first company you come across, for example, in a network marketing company (they usually hire everyone without exception), work in it and use this experience to your advantage.

— Come to a medium or large company that everyone knows about, and offer yourself for free. A couple of months in a well-known company is a good experience. In addition, the resume does not indicate whether you received money from this company. Perhaps you will prove yourself and they will take you on as a bet.

- Gain experience on your own. Come up with a product or find an existing product and start selling it. Then call the company and offer it on behalf of “Horns and Hooves”.

— Gain experience in our course for talented salespeople. In addition to learning the theory of sales in an interesting and concise form, you will have the opportunity to practice selling the proposed services on our behalf for bonuses from goods sold.

You must understand that your “no experience” is not a stigma, but happiness. There are companies (very few of them) that like to hire people with a “blank slate”. They can be taught a lot. The main thing for you is to learn how to sell not for someone else, but for yourself. It is important that you feel comfortable with your knowledge and that you can easily find a well-paid job.

In my opinion, the best assistant in this will be a course for talented salespeople. Read about the principles used in training. Even if you cannot take my course and lay the foundation for a successful sales theory, remember the training postulates that I am talking about. You will be able to determine what the company will teach you: real sales or performing highly specialized functions suitable only for this company, thereby “tying” you for a long time.

The Village begins “New Life Week.” Over the course of five days, we will talk about how to change ourselves and our habits, and also try to change jobs and listen to the advice of a mentor. The first material is about what professional areas representatives of professions vulnerable to the crisis can go into.

1. Where to go for those with not very promising professions

6. The Village employees are trying to get a job.

Mass layoffs of employees have not yet begun, but some companies have already begun to optimize their staff, getting rid of excess marketers, secretaries and other specialists, whose services, in principle, can be dispensed with. Where are these people going? At the request of The Village, the Job.ru website analyzed its vacancy database and found that unemployed PR specialists often post resumes for the positions of sales managers, curators or teachers, HR specialists want to work as accountants, personal assistants or psychologists, bank tellers want to work as collectors or economists, secretaries - assistants, sales managers or supply managers. But it is not a fact that they will be in demand in a related field.

We asked representatives of companies and personnel services to tell us where representatives of not very popular and promising professions can go to work.

From doctors to insurers

In connection with the healthcare reform, a significant number of specialists with medical education are being laid off. In my opinion, one of the potential areas for doctors to transition could be the insurance industry. For us, these are the most valuable potential candidates. We sell insurance products such as travel policies and also offer accident insurance. It is precisely for the settlement of insurance claims for these products that we are always looking for candidates with medical education and experience.

In general, insurance is a very hospitable business segment for specialists of various specialties. It is not always important for us whether a person worked in an insurance company before joining us or not - we are always ready to invest our time in training a novice specialist. For example, we gladly invite everyone who is ready to work on the telephone with our company’s clients. We have a lot of examples of successful careers: former teachers, professional confectioners, and beauty consultants have become excellent salespeople.

From system administrators to IT corporation employees

System administrators are not among the first candidates for dismissal, but career prospects in this profession are small. But they can apply for positions in professional services, for example, in a system integrator (adaptation of software products to the needs of specific clients, deployment and installation on the customer’s premises), in companies that develop their own software products - as specialists in migration and upgrades. In the first case, in addition to English, you will need to have a good knowledge of the server side of system administration and understand the specifics of hosting and databases. If you want to retrain as a tester, then knowledge of testing methods and a basic understanding of programming languages will be useful. There is only one universal piece of advice - choose what interests you and then delve deeper into the topic. If the subject of work is not interesting, then there is little chance of success: sooner or later the employer feels this, and you live with it every day.

In the Novosibirsk office of Parallels, we began to prepare system administrators to work in the software product support service. We offered candidates who successfully passed the technical interview to study English in our office. This gave us the opportunity to evaluate their communication skills in a real environment before hiring. The English school for system administrators lasts two to three months. Every engineer can delve into either the technical part or the consulting part, and someone can follow the management path. In addition, we periodically open narrow specializations, for example, specialists responsible for quality control of service. On average, you can earn more in product support than in systems administration.

From tour seller to call center operators

Travel industry workers who interact daily with a variety of, sometimes difficult, clients can find themselves in sales and client work in other areas. Their experience, high level of resistance to stress, ability to communicate, offer the optimal solution within a clearly defined time frame and resolve complex situations will be in demand in those industries that will be least affected by the crisis. For example, you can try to work in a call center for a telecommunications company or retrain as a medical representative.

Another possible option is to pay attention to the field of online trading and internet marketing. After all, advising a potential client regarding the selection or promotion of a product is no more difficult than choosing the “ideal tour.”

If you are still a young specialist, it’s time to think about training for the professions of the future. A lot of interesting things will happen in mobile technologies, medicine, biology and other areas. In addition, it is worth paying attention to the public sector. The civil service now has leaders with a new, modern mentality, the culture and remuneration systems are changing. And this sector is the most stable in terms of employment.

From marketers to salespeople

During a crisis, administrative staff, PR, marketing and HR are the first to be cut. The last three specialties are somehow related to sales, promotion, and analytics. You can move towards simplifying the functionality, use previously established connections and re-profile as a seller - engage in direct sales, for example. An employee who worked in the field of communications already has a database of contacts, and he can begin to interact differently using this database. You just need to change the subject and method of this interaction.

If a fired person manages to remain in a rational mood and simply act, then there is every chance of achieving success and earning even more - in the same area of business, but at a different level. Here, technically, you need to act without being distracted by emotions, and people usually have emotions during a crisis, and even after layoffs, which are not the most positive; people slip into reflection.

Evgeniy Dyachenko founder of Supl.biz company

From scientists to entrepreneurs

I am the founder of four companies, the total staff is now about fifty people, and in some companies I continue to recruit key employees on my own. I went into business after I found myself unclaimed as a scientist.

In 2010, I defended my PhD thesis in physical and mathematical sciences. I studied at Tomsk University, and then for a year and a half in Germany. After my defense, I wanted to enroll in postdoctoral studies at the University of Catalonia in Barcelona, but, unfortunately, that year the crisis hit them especially hard, and they decided not to open new postdoc positions. After that, I decided that since now was not the time to do science in Europe, I was interested in trying myself in business, and in 2011 I opened my first company, the Smartfield remote assistant service. It currently employs thirty employees. I also work on the electronic trading platform for business Supl.biz.

I travel a lot around the world, communicate with great people at conferences and ask many people how they achieved such heights. All answers can be reduced to two. First, do what you enjoy doing. Secondly, don’t be afraid to change your field of activity.

Sales specialists are the most sought-after candidates on the labor market. There are many myths about their work. They dissipate when a person works in this field for some time. But the difficulty is that these misconceptions prevent people from starting to work. And earn a lot of money.

Myth No. 1. Sales is cold calling

Many people mistakenly believe that a sales employee's workday consists entirely of calls to potential clients who react rudely to any offers. In fact, it very much depends on the company and position. There are more such calls in “buy and sell” companies, and fewer in services and manufacturing. Find out the details of the job before you make a decision; some companies will not give you the chance to learn how to make cold calls.

Myth No. 2. Sales is constant traveling (sales representative)

A sales representative is only the beginning of a career in sales, the foundation without which you will not be able to achieve a successful career. But in addition to this, you need to be able to work with a large amount of data, be able to analyze it (results of events, assortment, cost policy, etc.), develop strategies based on the analysis and communicate with clients. By the way, the less travel, the more calls (see myth No. 1).

Myth No. 3. Sales is “selling unnecessary goods”

You should always look at the company’s products and activities, not only in sales: if you are confused by the product, you don’t even need to take the position of an accountant. On the other hand, it should be noted that sales have a longer-term task - to make the client come back again, so simply “selling” is prohibited in normal companies. First you need to understand the client's needs, and then help him satisfy them. Therefore, good analytical skills and the ability to convey your point of view are important for a successful salesperson.

Myth No. 4. Sales are not prestigious. Is it marketing - “blue blood”...

One of the most common myths among young professionals, due to which the competition for a position in marketing exceeds 100 people per place at the stage of submitting an application form. Have you ever thought that the only department in a company that really makes money is sales? That is why in some companies, during corporate parties, the first toast is always to the sales representatives who “feed” the entire business. The opinion of these people is valued, and they always try to retain good employees from the sales department. After all, clients are often attached not to the company, but to a specific person who works with them. And if he leaves the company, clients will follow him.

Myth No. 5. Sales is a slow career

It turns out that a position in the sales department is one of the shortest paths to the position of CEO. The reason is who makes the most money? (see myth #4). If a person contributes to the development of a business, he is more likely to be promoted and rewarded.

Myth No. 6. Sales is a tough job during GRDP

Indeed, it happens that candidates refuse to participate in the program on the grounds that they do not want to work in sales, and then they are faced with a situation where such rotation exists in almost all companies. Why? Because a development program is a program for future managers, and without understanding how a company makes money, it is impossible to become successful.

Myth No. 7. Sales refer to manufacturing companies only (products)

This point is for those who expect that their career will never come into contact with sales. In fact, there are sales in every company and we all engage in sales: when we are looking for a job or employees, when we report to the manager about the work done, when we defend our diploma... Why then not make sales your professional field and learn how to do it at the highest level?

To conclude my blog, I would like to note that recently even the very concept of “sales” has undergone significant changes, and in many companies this division is called the customer development department.
