Since McDonald's Happy Meal toys are quite popular among children and even adults, we present a general article about the history of the creation of Happy Meal in general. We will also indicate expected, current and past collections.

The Happy Meal was designed as a set menu order at McDonald's aimed specifically at children. Sold in the USA since 1979. The set menu consists of food and a themed series of toys, which change approximately once a month and are dedicated to a cartoon, film, series and book characters, or toy brand. The toy and food are packed in a holiday bag. In different countries, such chest bags are an additional gift for customers from McDonald's marketers.

At McDonald's restaurants you can buy Happy Meal toys separately from the menu. In this case, as of July 2015, it will cost you only 26 UAH. While the whole menu costs 40 UAH.

HISTORY OF THE CREATION OF HAPPY MEAL

In the mid-70s, Yolanda Fernandez de Cofiño worked with her husband as a McDonald's manager in Guatemala. She suggested creating a Ronald's menu that included a hamburger, small fries and an equally small popsicle. Bob Bernstein liked this idea and created Happy Meals. He believed that if children could receive their own menu in a sealed form, it would make them happy. And then one day he saw his son at breakfast, when he was studying a bag of cereal. And Eureka! He realized that all the salt was in the package. He called his entire team, illustrators, designers, and together they came up with a box. It contained a hamburger, fries, a cookie and a drink, as well as an unexpected surprise.

The resulting Happy Meal began to be sold in 1977, but it became widespread only 2 years later, in 1979. Bernstein founded the brand in 1977 at Happy Meal.

Happy Meal toys are most often themed and dedicated to the release of a new cartoon or movie. The first insert toy was a toy collection commemorating the December 1979 release of Star Trek.

The packaging featured various images related to the film. Customers had to snap up the entire menu to complete the collection. But then in 1992, McDonald's withdrew these toys from circulation because parents began to receive complaints that the film was not for children. In 1983, the Happy Meal added a selection of McNuggets and began changing toys weekly. And in 1987, for the first time, the Disney studio had a hand in Happy Meal. In 1997, the most popular Beanie Baby series in the history of Happy Sweet was released. It was popular right up to 2000 and was republished in 2004 and 2009. Toys in this series have sold almost 100 million copies.

In July 2011, Healthy ingredients such as apples were added to the Happy Meal menu.

Happy Meal's goal was not to provide toys for children. It is only in recent decades that great importance has been attached to toys from the McDonald's menu. Initially it was a trifle (a ball or a flying saucer), and then marketers and designers groaned more and more carefully over them. From 1988 to 2007, Happy Honey's theme was standard Disney. But Disney did not extend the contract further, switching to healthier food for children.

HAPPY MEAL MENU COMPOSITION

In Ukraine, the menu consists of a choice of:

Kids can choose their choice of hamburger, cheeseburger or McNuggets with sauce. As a side dish, they offer small packages of French fries or carrot sticks. As a drink, you will be offered to take either a small Cola, Fanta or Sprite, or carbonated or still water Bonaqua, or Rich apple juice (there is also an exotic one) in a small package with a straw.

Abroad, children at McDonald's are offered apple slices as a side dish, a light vegetable salad, and a carton of milk as a drink. Sandwiches also vary depending on the country and even the city. Sometimes you can see cheese sandwiches and even pasta!

The country's young population enthusiastically shares their experience of eating burgers with different compositions, assessing which coffee is better or which ice cream is tastier. Young people and children especially like French fries, which have a golden and crispy crust. Children go to McDonald's branches for the only dish - Happy Meal, because there is a surprise waiting for them...

How did the Happy Meal dish come about?

Initially, Happy Meal (McDonald's) was conceived as a designer dish. The idea is that the child chooses (“puts together”) his own dish. He can make it from potatoes, hamburger, juice or milk. This approach has made this dish popular in many cities of our country.

Happy Meal (McDonald's) began its existence in 1995. To this day, the range of products included in the dish has expanded significantly. This is dictated by caring for the child, because every little person needs food rich in microelements and vitamins.

Its composition

Many parents are interested in the question of the composition of the Happy Meal. The menu developers took into account all the nuances of creating dishes for children. They understand that not only appearance is important, but also product quality. Therefore, Happy Meal (McDonald's) consists of various products that you can choose for yourself. This includes:

In Russia they are supplied from the quality-tested agricultural company Belaya Dacha. Of the numerous types of potatoes, only 2 varieties are selected for preparing such a children's dish.

The oil is not a selective product, but 100% natural, from sunflowers grown in the fields of the country. It also undergoes many quality checks and is supplied from a special plant for the production of frying oils in the city of Efremov (Tula region).

Milk and cocktail mixes are also quality products. They are supplied from farms in the Vladimir and Moscow regions. Whole milk is processed and we get wonderful shakes, ice cream, McFlurries.
