Spring is the right time to do a seasonal revision of your wardrobe and home. Faced with an overflowing closet, many start to panic: it is not clear what to do with dresses bought online and not fit, with a stretched hoodie or a stack of jeans that you have not worn for a long time. It is even less obvious where, in addition to the trash heap, the annoying interior items can be attributed. The Village learned how to give old clothes and furniture a second life.

"BlagoButik"

BlagoButik, one of the pioneers of social entrepreneurship in Russia, opened on September 20, 2012. At the same time, he became the first store in Moscow where you can bring things as a gift. Only designer items from famous brands are accepted here, so it makes sense to look in your closet for Armani, Dior or Emilio Pucci collections. The main thing is that everything is in perfect condition. In the future, the store sells things for the benefit of seriously ill children - the Gift of Life and Vera charity funds. To help children, you can bring clothes, shoes, bags, clutches, stoles, scarves, belts, ties, watches, as well as souvenirs, art and antiques and jewelry: necklaces, bracelets, brooches and, for example, earrings.

The store representatives reserve the right to refuse or postpone the deadline for accepting things if they consider that the thing cannot be sold at the moment or there are no conditions for its storage. Plus, if the store cannot sell the item, then it will be donated to other charitable organizations that help those in need. And the proceeds from the sales will be transferred to the Gift of Life and Vera funds for targeted programs for the purchase of medicines, mechanical ventilation devices, wheelchairs, as well as payment for expensive operations and treatment.

Charity Shop

Many American thrift stores provide employment opportunities for people with disabilities. The Charity Shop performs an equally important function: profits from clothing sales are channeled to the Second Wind charitable foundation, which implements employment programs for people from socially disadvantaged groups. In addition, part of the profits is transferred to the Center for Equal Opportunities "Up", which helps graduates of orphanages and correctional boarding schools to get an education.

In addition to the usual private donors, Charity Shop cooperates with expat communities, shopping and business centers, and also organizes clothing collection campaigns in offices - you can bring a collection container directly there by picking it up from a special warehouse. Any casual or festive clothing should be rented out - it doesn't matter whether it is luxury or mass-market - brands are not as important as appearance and quality preservation. However, the Charity Shop even accepts rags - torn, outdated and worn clothes. Of course, no one will wear it, but the rags will be used for industrial purposes in metallurgical plants, shoe factories and many other places. At the same time, shoes, bags, belts and accessories are accepted only in good condition, since they cannot be recycled.

"Shop of Joys"

The Shop of Joy is the first Russian charity store, which opened in 2012 thanks to Katya Bermant, director of the All Together and Children's Hearts organizations. The volunteers of the project affectionately call the store a shop and accept absolutely any things - from vintage items and souvenirs to ordinary new and not so clothes (but the one that is sold will definitely be in good condition, as it passes the selection before entering the store). But things that have served their time are still taken in order to send them for processing or to a dog shelter for litter for pets.

In the "Shop of Joys" there are no fixed prices and cash registers. The coordinator helps each buyer decide on the donation that he puts into the sealed box. You can also install a good box in your office, in which all employees can bring unnecessary things on the way to the workplace. All funds collected from the sale of things go to the account of the All Together charitable organization. According to the volunteers, it is not yet worth bringing books (there is nowhere to put them) and large interior items. You should try to find more unnecessary toys, clothes, bags and accessories.

"Dump "

“Just rake everything into one big heap and call us - we will come and take everything out at once” - such a call was posted on his website by social entrepreneur and founder of the Svalka service Alexey Barinsky. In order for the service to help turn unnecessary junk into good, you need to leave a request, agree on a time and wait for the visiting team by the appointed hour. Project employees take away any items, except for those that are already considered garbage. They accept gifts of clothes, books, toys, old and broken household appliances, dishes and furniture.

As a bonus for thrift, the former owners will be paid a small bonus. Then things are taken apart in the warehouse, dishes are washed, clothes are sorted and disinfected by quartzing, shoes are cleaned, equipment (if possible) is repaired, and books are sorted into categories. At the same time, something that is not suitable for sale for processing is separated and handed over, or disposed of with the help of the Rasfigachechnaya project. Further, given in the proper form, things "Dump" sells at a flea market.

Buyers have at their disposal a large trading floor, where a flea market is open every day from 12:00 to 21:00. Here 90% of things can be bought for less than 500 rubles. The project also has an online store that sells the most interesting things available. Among other things, "Svalka" cooperates with wholesale buyers, flea markets, enterprises for the processing of old clothes, waste paper, scrap metal and household waste. And 70% of the proceeds are transferred to Dobro Mail.Ru.

Address: st. Krymsky Val, 10a

H&M hosts perpetual promotion on the processing of things, that is, for your old things they give a discount in 15%.

What H&M itself says on this issue:

The Collecting Program is a worldwide initiative in which H&M strives to create a more sustainable fashion for the future.

I'll tell you more how many things should be in the package, what quality they should be and where the promotion is held, everything is lower in the rules.

Rules:

  • One package - one discount coupon.
  • One hand does not give more than two coupons at a time , so if there are a lot of things, but you want discounts, then we either deliver to different stores, or two packages a day. You can ask someone you know to help)
  • You can rent anything you want! The items are sorted into categories: re-wearing and recycling, so that even a lonely old sock is perceived as a thing ... Do you want to hand over the top items? Please, you can too! Textile? Of course!
  • One package with things is considered valid for any two things. That is, exaggerating, two socks in a bag this is a complete bag with things ... But we’re not going to do that cunning, right?)
  • Where are things exchanged? In any H&M store.
  • What does the discount apply to? For any goods other than designer jewelry and things, there is already a special offer.
  • Discount valid for 1 year.
  • 1 item in the check - one discount
  • not accepted leather, both artificial and natural, fur, footwear.

I think this is a great idea, not only because of the discounts, but also the very idea of recycling, but what do you think?

If you could not dare to sort out old things, then now it will be easier for you to do it, knowing that you are doing it for a good cause. 😺

We take out a package with packages, direct an audit in the cabinets and without hesitation, we carry our goods to the store. There we will be given two discount coupons for two packages, I remind you that there are no more than two in hand.

Discount coupons give a 15% discount, made of rough cardboard:
