Types of painting eggs. Types of painting Easter eggs. Why eggs are painted for Easter

Easter is already approaching, and therefore it's time to think about such an interesting and beloved activity as painting easter eggs ... The latter is not just another hobby of needlewomen, but a whole tradition, the history of which goes back to ancient times. As you know, many peoples and even individual regions within the borders of one country have their own rules and customs of painting, using peculiar drawings and patterns. Accordingly, the masters are accustomed to distinguishing between several types of decorated Easter eggs, namely:

Easter eggs- raw eggs, painted with beeswax or paints,

krashanki- hard boiled eggs, painted in one shade without patterns,

specks- multi-colored eggs with a single-colored background and many multi-colored dots (specks, spots or stripes), applied with melted wax,

ragdolls- Easter eggs, the main pattern of which is engraved on their surface using any sharp object. As a rule, they have a plain background, obtained thanks to the use of a natural dye (piece pieces are smeared and do not allow creating neat patterns),

malevanki- beautiful eggs, decorated with any imaginary patterns applied with acrylic and other types of paints.

Hot wax painting of Easter eggs

One of the most exciting is painting them with hot wax, which is both fun and focused. In order to draw complex patterns on the egg, craftswomen use:

  • crayons (sold in stationery stores) or molten paraffin candles tinted with food dyes
  • small metal containers (for the first time, deep bottle caps or old tablespoons will come off)
  • copper wire or needle (crochet hook)
  • dyes for eggs (natural or food)

Working process:

1. The first thing to do is to color the selected egg in any monotonous color. Both food coloring and onion skins are suitable here. The main thing is for the shell to acquire a rich color, which will later become the background for the drawing.

2. After the egg is completely dry, you should start coloring it. To do this, you must first melt the colored crayons (each one separately) by placing them in small containers installed above the flame. The latter can be fire from a tablet candle located on the desktop. In this case, it is important that the fire warms the wax all the time while the drawing is in progress, but does not bring it to a boil.

3. After all the necessary preparations, you can now start directly applying intricate patterns. On a needle or wire used as a brush for painting, take a small amount of wax and draw a line on the shell or put a point. Subsequently, it should be dipped in wax after each stroke.

If the egg will be painted with only one color, after applying all the necessary patterns, it must be wiped with a soft cloth, which will remove minor errors. Then grease the shell with sunflower oil or grease that makes it shine.

If you plan to apply patterns of different shades, you must first apply strokes of the same color, wait for them to dry completely and only then start creating drawings of the next shade.

Perhaps, after reading all this, not everyone will understand how to act, and therefore below we present you a master class on painting eggs with hot wax, after watching which everything will finally become clear:

As you can see here, the craftswoman uses wax of several shades, which makes her Easter eggs look beautiful and festive, but this does not mean that monochrome patterns are inferior to multi-colored ones:

It is clear that beginners simply cannot know all the possible options for painting eggs with molten wax. And for a start, you can use it ready-made templates, the number of which is very huge. For example, these can be drawings:

However, you can decorate eggs using this technique without pre-dyeing them. In this case, they might look like this:

As beautiful as the above Easter eggs are, hot wax is far from the only thing that can be used to decorate eggs. Alternatively, you can:

- wrap in an old colorful tie and dip in vinegar for a few minutes,

here's what you get as a result:

- paint the shell with a permanent marker,

- wrap eggs in lace and dip in food coloring,

- cover the eggs with confectionery sprinkles.

The methods of decorating Easter eggs do not end there at all. They can also be wrapped with ribbons, placed in openwork nets (specially crocheted), painted with ordinary paints, decorated with leaves of plants and in any other way that just comes to mind. The main thing is to remember that it is better to carry out bold experiments with the use of toxic substances on blown eggs that no one will eat.

But it is preferable to paint boiled hard-boiled dyes using natural dyes, which are used not only onion peels, but also pomegranate juice, boiled spinach leaves, strong coffee or tea, red cabbage leaves and many other products.

The greatest holiday of the entire Christian world is approaching - Bright Resurrection of Christ, popularly also called Easter or Great Day. And, probably, there is no more famous and popular symbol of this holiday than Easter eggs.

On Easter we joyfully say: "Christ is Risen!" and exchange red testicles. This custom is very old; Christ gave us life, and the egg is the sign of life.

Where does this universal symbol come from? The egg, as a sacred emblem, is found in the Cosmogony of every nation on Earth and was revered both because of its shape and because of the mystery contained in it. Since the earliest mental concepts of man, it has been known as the most aptly depicting the beginning and the mystery of Being. The gradual development of an invisible embryo inside the shell, the transformation of this embryo into a living being that broke its shell, must have always seemed like a constant miracle.

Making Easter eggs in Russia.

Village craftsmen prepared wooden Easter eggs for Easter. Chocolate and sugar eggs were sold in pastry shops. And well-known jewelry firms created works of art from porcelain and crystal, gold and silver, from colored and transparent glass, from bone and stone ... They could be the most different sizes- from large ones, in which you can hide various surprises (for example, Faberge Easter eggs), to small eggs - they were pinned to clothes or worn on a chain. These miniature jewelry were given to girls for several years in a row: next Easter, a new one was added to the old gift, and so gradually a whole necklace of colorful holiday eggs hung on a chain was obtained.

In the form of an egg, a wide variety of household items- travel bags, watches, vases, gift cups, etc.

Bakers, icon painters, herbalists (that is, floral ornament artists) of the Armory Chamber and monks of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra were engaged in the manufacture of Easter eggs in Russia. Over time, they began to celebrate with handmade eggs more and more often, and gradually Easter eggs turned into a kind of memorable gift, often very expensive and exquisite.

In the 18th-19th centuries, the production of Easter eggs becomes independent species art, and since the end of the last century - and an independent branch of the art industry. They were made in glass and porcelain factories, in grinding factories, in workshops, etc.

In the pantry of the Winter Palace, there was a constant supply of Easter eggs - for the imperial children, for gifts, as well as for international industrial exhibitions. The number of gift eggs supplied annually to the royal court was constantly increasing.

Sketches for decorating Easter eggs intended for the tsar, his family members and other noble persons were often ordered by famous icon painters and artists (for example, they were made at the imperial porcelain factory, where the production of Easter eggs had been established since 1749).

The Fabergé Easter eggs have won worldwide fame.

After 1917, the production of Easter eggs was discontinued. Only in the late 80s of the XX century, forgotten customs and rituals returned to our lives, including the old Russian tradition of offering an Easter egg. Exhibitions of Easter eggs in Russia and abroad are of great interest.

In the modern period, the state pays considerable attention to the preservation and revival of folk traditions.

The modern generation understands the importance of this problem and believes that in our age of technology, a person breaks away from his roots and forgets about national traditions. But it is known that a nation that does not have its own cultural heritage is doomed to extinction.

Thanks to the above, there is no doubt about the relevance of our work aimed at making a certain contribution to the preservation, revival and development of folk traditions and origins.

Traditional folk art - painting Easter eggs.

In Orthodox use, eggs for Easter are not only painted, but also fancifully painted. Such eggs, with the lines of their patterns, seem to remind of the scourging of Christ. Therefore, it is necessary to paint and paint eggs on a special day on Holy Week (week) - on Maundy Thursday or Good Friday.

1. Krashenka- the most famous egg, which is boiled and painted in different colors using dyes. (Appendix 1) Almost everyone now uses artificial colors to color their eggs. However, it is best to use natural dyes that are not harmful to health, unlike bright synthetic dyes.

2. Krapanka- from the Ukrainian "speckled" - to cover with drops. (Appendix 1)

To make speckling, you first need to paint the egg in the desired color, then light a candle and drip wax on the egg. After it hardens, the egg can be dipped in a different color.
There can be many colors, but the main color will be the one in which you dip the egg for the last time.

3. Malevanka- this is a more complex type of painting on eggs, when eggs are painted with various invented patterns using paints. (Appendix 1) When painting an egg in the form of a malevanka, not only paints can be used, but also brushes, fabrics, petals, beads, lace, etc.

4. Dryapanka- This is an egg that is scratched on a solid paint. (Annex 1). A sharp metal is used to scratch the egg. In addition, this type of painting includes cut-through painting - an openwork product is cut out of a whole egg shell.
5. Pysanka- the most difficult type of painting Easter eggs. (Appendix 1) First, the egg is painted with a special ornamental or plot pattern. The patterns and ornaments of Easter eggs were strictly passed down from generation to generation, so they are amulets. Once upon a time, testicles were painted with a thin bone from a chicken breast, dipping it in melted honey wax. Then a special device for painting appeared - a scribbler or a brush (Appendix 2), as it is called in Ukraine. (You can also dip a needle into melted wax and draw with it, but it's not so convenient ...)
Wax is put into it, and melted on a candle to a completely liquid state.
Then it flows easily through the hole in the nozzle and you can paint the egg with it.
On a cold egg, patterns are made with hot wax. The entire wax pattern will remain white.
Then the egg is put into the paint. First into a lighter one, then into a darker one.

After that, a new pattern is painted with wax and dipped in another paint, and so on. When all the patterns are drawn, the wax is removed from the egg.

The main colors of the Easter eggs ornament are white, yellow, red and black. The rest of the colors are not considered symbols, but a simple decoration of the egg. Divorce lines are usually white, and in cases where the background of the Easter egg is white, the divorce is yellow.
The meanings of the symbols that are used when painting Easter eggs:
The dove is a symbol of the soul.
The mesh is a symbol of fate.
Flowers are a symbol of girlhood.
Plums are a symbol of love.
White is the beginning of all beginnings: fate, which is built in the sky.
Black is the color of sorrow. A bright drawing must be applied to a black base.
The yellow mesh is a symbol of the sun and the fate that is being built here.
Oak is a symbol of strength.
Hops are a symbol of fertility.
Any berry is a symbol of fertility; mother.
Pine is a symbol of health.
Dots are a symbol of fertility.

An Easter Egg Museum has been created in Ukraine in Kolomyia The exhibition of the Easter Egg Museum today houses over six thousand Easter eggs, and they were brought not only from all over Ukraine

Currently, housewives are actively using chemical dyes when dyeing eggs. The question arises, is it possible to color eggs without "chemistry"? It turns out you can. Natural dyes contain vegetables and fruits that we consume almost daily, so the color Light red will give beets or blueberries;
Orange: bow;
Light yellow: oranges or lemons, carrots;
Yellow: turmeric roots, walnut shells;
Light green: spinach leaves, nettle;
Green: green apples;
Blue: red cabbage leaves;
Beige or brown: coffee.

Now about the methods of dyeing eggs themselves.

1. Onion peel is the most famous and accessible method for everyone. Eggs can be dyed yellow to reddish brown. The color depends on the concentration of the broth.

2. To make the eggs yellow or golden, they are painted with birch leaves. The broth is prepared from leaves, can be dry, young birch and infused for about half an hour.

3. Grate already boiled eggs with juice (beetroot, carrot, spinach juice).

4. Place eggs in a saucepan, cover them with water. Add a teaspoon of vinegar. Boil eggs with natural coloring agents. They are discussed above.

5. Wet eggs are rolled in dry rice, wrapped in cheesecloth (the ends of the cheesecloth must be tightly tied with a thread so that the rice sticks to the egg) and boiled in onion skins in the usual way. Speckled eggs are obtained.

6. For a marbled effect, wrap the eggs in onion skins and tie them with some cotton material on top.

7. When dyeing, you can wrap the eggs with multi-colored threads, then they will get interesting stains.

8. Boil eggs in water with baking soda. Wrap eggs in colorful silk shreds, tie with a thread. Boil them again in this water, let cool, open the shreds.

9. Pluck young leaves different shapes(for example, parsley leaves). Attach these leaves to the eggs, wrap them in a stocking and tie them tightly. Dip in tightly brewed onion skins. Cook for a long time.

10. Eggs painted with any food paint are still hot and blot with a napkin, put in a glass or egg holder and paint them with a thin watercolor brush until they cool down. In this method, everything depends only on the richness of your imagination.

After dyeing Easter eggs, you need to wipe them with vegetable oil to add shine.

The tradition of painting Easter eggs has not lost its significance. It has acquired a more aesthetic character than before. The tradition of painting Easter eggs is undergoing profound stylistic changes stemming from developing traditions. The painting on Easter eggs, plots, composition, color have changed. The reason lies in the emerging new worldview, a creative attitude to tradition, in the artist's professionalism, in a critical attitude that the peasant master did not possess before. In addition, new trends, new forms and means of expression are being created in art.

Conclusion

In progress creative work a study of literature data, media materials, Internet sites related to the chosen topic was carried out, on the basis of which a review of versions of the emergence of the tradition of painting eggs, giving them to relatives, friends and acquaintances was made.

A description of the main types is given. folk painting Easter eggs, revealed their distinctive features, established the meanings of symbols and colors when painting.

A review of the making of Easter eggs was also made, from which it follows that this tradition has not lost its significance, but has acquired a more aesthetic character. Based on the results of the analysis carried out in the main part of the work, it can be concluded that the painting of the Easter egg has become so widespread among various layers of the Russian population that it can be said about it as a kind of folk art.

In conclusion, we can say that the goals and objectives set in this work have been completed. The main types of decorating Easter eggs with traditional folk painting are revealed.

Since in this work the main attention is paid only to traditional folk painting, then in the future my work will be aimed at studying the species modern design Easter eggs.

In Canada, in the town of Vegreville, there is the world's largest Easter egg.

Egg shaped houses

The idea of a "house-egg" is far from new, and architects periodically use this form in their works. At the same time, in our acute-angled world, a rounded, and even more so, an egg-shaped building will certainly attract attention, and therefore increased requirements are imposed on it from professionals and ordinary people.

It is unlikely that spherical buildings will spread widely across the planet in the near future, they still seem to be aliens from another world, but they will definitely appear.

Easter egg in the virtual world

« Easter Egg"(Eng. Easter Egg, slang easter egg) is a kind of secret left in the game, movie or software by the creators.

An "Easter egg" is something like a small (or maybe large, because everything in our world is relative) module inserted into the program and called by means of certain actions on the part of the user. These modules are written by the programmers themselves (or groups of programmers) with a good sense of humor. Easter Eggs can be various jokes, not significant moments, a photo with a group who wrote the program, etc. In most cases, if you have an "Easter Egg" for a version of the program that is different from the one you have installed, then the exact same egg is most likely will not appear, or maybe nothing at all will appear! This often happens when this egg gains worldwide fame. The monsters of the computer industry have the most Easter Eggs: Microsoft, Adobe, Norton, etc. You can find a lot of Easter Eggs on the English-language website www.

"The egg is a wonderful symbol, the oldest pagan symbol of the resurrection from the dead: the egg looks like a dead stone, smooth, motionless, but life beats in it, an amazing miracle is hidden in it. Long before the Nativity of Christ, the egg symbolized the Universe. In Christianity, the egg acquired a new meaning and became a symbol of the Resurrection, a symbol of Easter, the birth of a new world through the Resurrection of Christ. The red color of the egg signifies the joy of the rebirth of the human race. This is the color of the blood of Christ shed on the cross, which atoned for all the sins of the world.

Types of painting Easter eggs. Colorful easter eggs

Krashenki

Krashenki- from the word paint. You can paint eggs in different ways.
Some housewives boil eggs hard-boiled, and then immerse them in a solution of warm water with food coloring, which can be bought at the store, for 10-15 minutes.
Other housewives like to paint eggs in a decoction of onion peels. To do this, put raw eggs in a pot of water, add onion peels and boil for 15-20 minutes until the eggs acquire the desired color.
And earlier eggs were painted in a special way: they were wrapped with dry leaves of oak, birch, nettle, tied with threads and boiled. It turned out beautiful "marble" eggs.

Drapanki

For drapani it is better to take brown eggs. The shell of these eggs is stronger than the white ones.
First, the eggs are boiled, then dyed in a darker color, then dried. The pattern is applied to the shell with a sharp object - a knife, an awl, scissors, a thick needle, a clerical knife. But before scratching out the pattern, it must be applied to the egg with a sharp pencil. During work, the egg is held in the left hand, and a sharp object in the right.
Openwork pattern on drapunk looks good on brown or other dark paint.
The pattern on the drapunk can be anything, in contrast to the Easter egg with its strictly traditional geometric patterns. The edge stationery knife scratching out the contours of the drawing. To create shades within the contours, we scribble the drawing not with the tip, but with the entire surface of the knife blade. Erase the pencil sketch with an eraser. The drawing is ready. For shine, you can wipe the egg with a cotton swab and a drop of oil.

Speckles

Speckles- from the Ukrainian word "speck", that is, cover with drops.
First, the egg is painted in one color, then when it dries and cools down, drops of hot wax are applied to it.
As soon as the wax has cooled, the egg is placed in a solution of a different color.
After the paint has dried, the egg is dipped in hot water.
The wax melts and a very funny egg comes out.
The wax can also be scraped off gently.

Easter eggs

Easter eggs are elaborately painted Easter eggs. Ukrainian Easter eggs are real works of folk art.
For drawing Easter eggs, elements of flora and fauna, geometric shapes are used. Each region of Ukraine had its own characteristic ornament and color. In the Carpathian region, eggs were painted in yellow, red and black, in the Chernihiv region - in red, black and white, in the Poltava region - in yellow, light green, white.
The pysanka was not painted, not painted, but written on a raw chicken egg. Every line on the egg is an arc. The arcs form circles and ovals and, crossing, divide the surface of the egg into fields, the name of which is the Easter egg baptismal shirt.
Easter eggs were supposed to be painted with the first blow of the bell. First, the egg was dipped in yellow paint - "apple tree", and kept in it for three "ottenashey". Each color of the pattern was protected with wax. By the end of the work, the eggs turned into black gloomy koloboks. They were dipped in hot water or brought to the fire. The wax melted, and an Easter egg was born, as the sun is born out of the blackness of the night.
To make the pysanka shine, it was greased. They put a whisk around the cake - for God, on a dish with grain - for people, and dyes on sprouted oats - for parents. And three candles burned in honor of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Currently, the art of painting Easter eggs is being revived. The forgotten technique is being restored, new masters appear. In the city of Kolomiya, Ivano-Frankivsk region, an Easter egg museum has been created.

Malevanka

Malevanka- an egg, painted with its own invented pattern.
They have no symbolic meaning, they can be painted with paint (not wax).
The name "Malevanki" comes from the word paint, Easter eggs are painted with invented patterns using paints.
Painters, painting Easter eggs, often, in addition to patterns, draw plot pictures, flowers, landscapes, and landscapes.

Eggs

Eggs- eggs carved from wood and stone, made from porcelain and clay were made in Russia in the 13th century.
Later, eggs were decorated with beads, lace, knitting, etc.
The most famous in the world "Yaychata" was made by the imperial jeweler Carl Faberge.

I remember that as a child I loved to watch how my grandmother was preparing for a bright spring holiday Easter. She kneaded the aromatic dough, took out baking tins for cakes of various sizes and, of course, painted the eggs. Painted uncomplicated, in a decoction of onion peels, but how beautiful they were! Solid brick red, shiny, they glowed straight! Until now, I prefer to paint eggs this way.

In recent years, getting ready for Easter has been a breeze. Easter cakes from different manufacturers are sold in all stores (but have you tried them? You can rarely buy something decent, most often this pastry looks like a fresh roll), and eggs are offered to be wrapped in thermal stickers or painted with artificial colors. I don't even want to discuss dyes - no one will prove to me that it is completely safe. Eggs of blue, pink and other similar unnatural colors are automatically raised by me to the rank of inedible (of course, if they were not originally of that color, as described below). And the thermal stickers ... admit it, do such eggs really look festive for someone? Moreover, it takes not so much time and effort to obtain a beautiful and safe color. So consider the main technologies for painting Easter eggs.

The more husk and cooking time, the richer the color of the eggs.

Krashenki. The egg is colored during the cooking process using dyes. Of natural colors, I can offer you the following colors:

red - leaves of plants and flowers of red color, (no need to remind you that we only take edible berries and plants known for their safety?). This also includes onion skins from "sweet" onions, beets;

If you tie leaves or twigs of greenery to an egg before painting, you will get beautiful natural patterns

yellow - onion peel, St. John's wort, chamomile; sometimes boiled with turmeric, getting the color of gold;

- birch leaves, spinach, buckthorn bark;

blue or purple - berries of dark grapes, blueberries, elderberries, red cabbage.

The boiling time of the eggs differs depending on the color chosen. For example, you need to cook quite a bit with spinach, and up to 1 hour with onion skins. For intense coloring, you need to take more husk, cook it for about half an hour, then put eggs in the broth and cook for another half hour or hour. To make the eggs shine, they are wiped dry and wiped with a towel slightly dipped in vegetable oil.

Krapanki can be cooked with children

Speckles... Dyes of different colors and wax are needed. First, the egg is painted in one of the colors, after which it is dripped with wax on the shell, waited until it hardens and dipped in another dye for a few minutes. This can be done many times, with different dyes, after which the wax is heated over a candle flame and wiped off with a napkin. As a result, we have a characteristic speckled pattern, and an egg shiny from a thin waxy coating. If desired, instead of droplets of wax, you can draw patterns for them. Remember that the main color of the egg will be the one in which you last dipped it.

Malevanks imply the presence of artistic skills and abilities

Malevanki... We need paints, brushes, stencils (they can be flower petals, small leaves from trees, etc.), different textures, lace, beads. The eggs are painted with various patterns, including landscapes with holiday houses and flowering meadows. Or they combine painting with paints with appliqués from fabrics and beads.

It is not necessary to master the technique of cutting on the shell - even a child can scratch a pattern on a painted surface!

Dryapanki... The simple version requires dyes and an instrument with a sharp, usually metal tip. The egg is scratched on the applied paint, getting different patterns. This also includes cut-through painting - cutting an openwork pattern on a whole egg shell. Earlier monks-carvers were engaged in this: using a special knife or a sharp needle, they created stunning ornaments or biblical subjects.

Ornaments, patterns and even the colors of the Easter eggs speak with knowledgeable people language of symbols

Easter eggs... One of the most difficult types of painting Easter eggs (in fact, the most difficult, if you do not take into account the cut-out painting). Their patterns and ornaments carry a deep symbolic meaning. For painting, paints of the main four colors (white, yellow, red and black) and wax are used. First, the egg is painted in the main color, the desired pattern is applied with wax, dipped in another paint, the next pattern is applied, and so on several times until all the ornamental patterns of the desired color are applied. Then the wax is removed in the manner described above.

Here are the main types of painting. Have you already decided how to color your Easter eggs this year? Well, if you really don't want to paint eggs, I suggest this option - look for foreign chickens! What for? I'll tell you now. Unlike our hens, they delight their owners with eggs of all colors of the rainbow. For example, some chickens in South America They lay pink, yellowish-beige, orange, gray-blue and lilac eggs. But most often there you can find eggs of the color of delicate turquoise or muted green. Well, will we have time to fly for colored eggs before Easter?
