Planning Motivation Control

How to make a good impression and adapt to a new job. Have information and peace of mind

Continuing the conversation about the variety of insulin preparations, I want to discuss with you, dear readers, one question that often arises in the relationship between endocrinologists and diabetic patients, sometimes even creating conflict situations... The question concerns prescribing another insulin drug to replace to which a person has long been accustomed, "adapted" and considers himself the most suitable. I even happened to hear such a categorical formulation of this problem: "forcible replacement of insulin."

I don't think there is today a person among experienced diabetics who would remain faithful to one, once and for all, selected "main medicine" all his life. If only because "insulin" science and technology are developing very intensively and some drugs are constantly being replaced by others, more perfect.

But at the next visit, the attending physician may write a prescription with a new, unfamiliar name to you and for another reason: to prevent the production of antibodies in your body to the type of insulin that you have been taking for a long time. To this end periodic replacement of drugs is not only acceptable, but also desirable.
Unfortunately, much more often the doctor is forced to change the appointment for a reason, as they say, "disrespectful" and beyond his control - based on the available insulin preparations.

For practical health care, this is a really big problem, the solution of which should be treated much more seriously and responsibly. government bodies determining the long-term policy of drug supply to the population. But while you and I have to proceed from real life conditions, we need to learn to minimize the risk of undesirable consequences for our health of an unexpected replacement of insulin drugs.

First of all I want call you to calmness! Anxiety, irritation, resentment, which is easiest to throw out on the "extreme", that is, on your attending physician, does not promise anything but a deterioration in well-being.

And finally, the most important advice. When switching to a new insulin preparation, it is desirable measure blood sugar with test strips for the first week before each injection and record the results in a diary. Along the way, there you need to fix your subjective feelings. If you do not have the ability to control blood sugar, use domestic test strips for determinations sugar in urine.

If you carefully follow these recommendations, then after a short time, using the entries in the diary, with the help of a doctor, you will be able to correctly adjust the order and dose of injections. And thereby minimize the risk of possible complications.

HOW TO STORE, WHERE TO STORE INSULINS?

  • In the package, protected from light, at a temperature of 2 to 8 ° C.
  • The most convenient and reliable place is the refrigerator, where the housewives store vegetables and fruits (of course, not with them).
  • Away from the freezer!
  • Freezing the drug is unacceptable - it can change the physical stability of the particles, and hence the profile of the hormone action. If insulin is accidentally frozen, all that remains is to throw it away.
  • Do not build up large stocks of insulin at home, despite the fact that they have a shelf life of 2-3 years.
  • The opened bottle at room temperature (up to 25 ° C) and in a dark place is stored for up to 1 week. In the refrigerator - up to 4 weeks.
  • Going on a business trip, on a trip? Wrap the bottle from the refrigerator in foil and hide it in the bag so as to provide the optimal temperature for it from 2 to 8 degrees Celsius.
  • If you are afraid that the air temperature will be higher than the optimum, prepare a "mini-refrigerator" for insulin in advance: first put an open ordinary thermos on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator for a couple of hours, and then hide the insulin bottle in it and close it. Be careful - flasks for thermoses are in great shortage! To protect it more reliably, the bottle can be wrapped with a bandage or a thin layer of cotton wool, and when putting it into a thermos, tilt it to a horizontal position.
  • In order for the thermos to reliably protect insulin, periodically, 1-2 times a day, you can lower a street thermometer into it. While it reads from 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, rest assured, if the temperature in the flask rises, put the thermos in the refrigerator again.
  • Take a good look at the contents of the vial before injection. Simple insulin solutions should be completely transparent.
  • If you find flakes, other particles - insulin is unusable! Throw it away even if it is within the expiration date. Prolonged drugs look like cloudy suspensions. When stirring by rolling the bottle between the palms, it is necessary to achieve a halogen, i.e., a homogeneous state of the suspension. If this does not happen, the preparation is not suitable for injection. We'll have to use a new bottle.

Today's life puts forward conditions for a person to adapt and adapt to. However, it happens that it is quite difficult to start living in a new way. Psychologists in this case say that you need to work well with yourself. Experts assure that the key to success is work on your psychological state. How to adjust to life?

Psychologists are sure that in order for a person to live fully, he needs to take the position of a chameleon - depending on the situation, be able to change the color and live with him. But, this is not so easy to do, especially since there are a lot of situations when you have to adapt to new living conditions.

For example, a woman has to adapt to new circumstances when a child is born. At the same time, the stress from change can be so strong that a woman can have a nervous breakdown. Psychologists recommend preparing for such changes in advance - distributing responsibilities in the family, coming up with a schedule, who will look after the child when and how much, involve relatives, etc.

Of course, it is impossible to think everything through in advance, and for sure something will go wrong. But still, having a certain plan will make it much easier to adapt to the changes that have occurred in life.

Also, you have to adapt to new circumstances in life in the event of a change of residence or moving to another city or country. In such situations, a break in patterns occurs when a person leaves the established and familiar world, friends, relatives. It is easier for a person who has an easy character and consciously took this step to accept such a situation and temporary loneliness than for someone who has difficulty communicating with people he does not know.

However, you need to work with yourself and at least force yourself to appear in public. For example, you need to make a plan interesting places in the city that you can visit and start your walks. In addition to the fact that you can spend time interestingly and learn more about the place where you have moved, you can find new acquaintances according to your interests.

Adapting to life

Changing jobs can also be stressful for a person. After all, you have to re-adapt to a new team, other habits, customs and foundations. In order to establish contacts and better adapt to new conditions, they recommend attending all events at work - corporate parties, trips with colleagues to bowling, nature, etc. All this will help to quickly join the team.

How to adjust to life? There is general recommendations to help a person get settled in life much easier. For example, when you find yourself in a new and unfamiliar situation, it is better to switch to a slow life mode - to start doing everything consistently, with an arrangement and not grabbing at everything in a row, stability and orderliness will appear in life.

In addition, the systematization and slowness of your life process helps to conserve energy, which will be needed in the future for great achievements. But, you need to be ready, under certain circumstances, to use all your accumulated energy and do it most vividly and violently.

If you distribute your forces rationally, then you can quickly and painlessly go through changes and merge with your new life - this is what you need to strive for.

Becoming financially independent means, more often than not, finding a job. But this is only half the battle on the way to gain a foothold in your workplace and start climbing career ladder... Required probation, a period of adaptation to new conditions.

Coming or moving to a new job is always a stressful and complex process. This is especially true for the first working day. In other words, "as you harness, you will go." Most middle managers involved in the selection of personnel in companies believe that the main factor in the successful adaptation of a new employee in a team is the level of accessibility of a “newcomer” to information related to work at a particular workplace. For this, special programs are even created that will help a new person protect himself from stressful situations and fully demonstrate his efficiency.

First day of work

On the first day of work new person really needs employee support HR department or, as it is commonly called today, the HR department. A new colleague is given attention in order to create in his mind a positive attitude towards further work, to minimize his psycho-emotional load as much as possible. After all, the goal of the HR department is to retain staff.

On the other hand, without the efforts of a beginner in the same direction, an HR employee is unlikely to be able to achieve this.

Note! A “newbie” is simply obliged not only to show interest, activity (willingly gets acquainted with colleagues, with the generally accepted rules of this team, with the nature and volume of his work), but also mentally set himself up for a positive result on his own.

You need to concentrate your efforts due to the fact that the first working day is full of events and a lot of information, the need to understand the structure of the company, the specifics of the business process, and the style of work of the direct manager.

The result of such two-way work largely depends on the scale of the organization, the volume and complexity of the tasks that it faces. In a small business company, any closest employee can familiarize a new colleague with the rules. A large organization will likely need the help of a broader specialist in order to new employee was not limited by the scope of only his duties, he was able to clarify for himself main goal set by the corporation. This will help him evaluate the role of his work, his responsibilities in the common cause. Not to mention the fact that the newcomer needs to be shown and told where what lies, how to find the necessary departments, who to contact on certain issues. In turn, colleagues of the department supplement the details with general information.

For the period of adaptation to a beginner, it is useful to attach a personal mentor, to whom, if necessary, you can turn for useful advice, who will answer any question at any time. After all, questions begin to arise only in the process of work. At first, a newcomer may often feel embarrassed in front of the management or afraid to distract colleagues from work. But a wrong decision or a wrong act out of ignorance can do much more harm not only to a beginner, but also to a common cause.

Behavior tactics

In the environment we are accustomed to, we know exactly what to do to solve the problems that we face. In a new team, in order to feel like a “fish in water”, it is important to know how to behave in order for adaptation to be successful, to know what is more important - to maintain your own style of work, your own rules and habits, or to apply a generally accepted style of work in this team.

Note! Human resources specialists believe that it is very important to stick to the "golden" mean, which implies the manifestation of individuality.

It can be very useful for improving the working style of the department team and the company as a whole. From the very beginning, this fact can significantly "work" in favor of the newcomer, raise his rating, if, of course, there is a healthy psychological atmosphere in the team. This will facilitate contact with colleagues and superiors. You cannot ignore their offers to take part in a joint lunch or conversation on abstract topics, for example, in a smoking room. Overcoming stiffness in the process of such contacts contributes to the soonest getting used to the new environment.

Secrets of Successful Adaptation

The secrets of successful adaptation are to perform your duties diligently and responsibly without showing much zeal. The desire to like you immediately, from the first days, will rather harm than bring you closer to success in a team. It has long been known - not a single team accepts "upstarts" who "stick out with their own opinion." It is useful to wait for experienced colleagues to speak, and then (preferably at their request) join in the reasoning.

And what is not worth doing at all is to delve into the gossip process and, moreover, to take sides in squabbles on topics that arose on the basis of events that took place before the appearance of a newcomer in this team.

Only the desire to learn, the ability to painlessly accept criticism, patience, a friendly attitude towards everyone without exception, a moderate sense of humor will help you very quickly become your own person in a new team.

It's not a secret for anyone that the appearance of a new colleague arouses a special interest in him of the entire team, which includes very different people, including very cocky ones. They will definitely try to test you for strength, exacerbating the discomfort that you are experiencing. For old-timers, a newcomer to the team is a fresh opportunity to add adrenaline, an opportunity to stand out, increase their self-esteem, and feel like an experienced mentor.

This is especially true for large companies that have already become conservative with an established composition of colleagues, who have managed to overcome many professional barriers, have managed to get used to each other, and possibly get tired of each other.

Note! In such conditions, it is important not only to perform their duties with high quality, but also to acquire a "strong back", find their like-minded people and, with their help, create a solid professional ground.

Mobbing

The rejection of the new employee acquired modern name- mobbing. This phenomenon can be assessed as office hazing, harassment or harassment of an unsettled person. Moreover, this phenomenon can be observed not only on the part of ordinary employees, and on the part of managers. The manifestation of such an unhealthy atmosphere in the team forced, for example, Sweden to develop a special anti-bumping law.

The consequences of mobbing generated by fear and internal tension in the team, according to research by European HR specialists, can be stressful conditions, headaches, insomnia, nightmares, detachment, doubts, guilt, shame, and even paranoia and suicide (in 10% of cases ). What is the solution?

First of all, you should:

  • analyze your behavior;
  • improve your professionalism;
  • watch what is happening in the team.

Studies have identified the degree of harmfulness of some habits that are useful to know about: empty talk with colleagues and a tendency to gossip; frequent smoking; obsessive, tactless and irresponsible behavior; being late; loud speech, especially over the phone on a personal topic; meal at work time; laziness; carelessness with negligence and such vices as arrogance, lies, stupidity, denunciations and manifestation of rudeness.

Forbidden tactics of behavior in a team

There is no doubt that the art of joining a team requires tension. It can always be reduced. It is very easy to set colleagues against yourself, because those who want to apply the "who's new" tactics are very quick. To do this, let's start from the opposite and list the techniques that should become forbidden for a beginner.

  • Going to work, stock up on "equipment" in the form of a block of gum, a bag of seeds, perfume with a pungent smell, bright nail polish, which ladies will use without hesitation and exclusively within working hours. Use this "arsenal" purely individually, without sharing it with anyone.
  • Demonstrate openly that you have a "fancy" mobile phone with loud speakers, which can break through any walls and partitions in the office with its decibels. Receiving and sending calls should take place hourly and exclusively without tactful leaving the office.

  • Show your "unstoppable" efficiency by the end of the day with a delay in the office after working hours. This will allow all colleagues to "realize", finally, what kind of loafers they are.
  • For your home life, someone else's lighters, office paper, ruler pens, erasers ... that you grab when you go home will always come in handy.
  • Choose the warmest and most comfortable for yourself workplace, not forgetting to often open the window in the office.

Well, something else in a similar manner ... At first glance, it would seem that there is nothing particularly serious in the above-mentioned actions, let alone criminal. But life, as we know, is made up of little things, and hostility, as a rule, is gradually born of them. Your colleagues will not even be able to formulate an answer to the question why they so consistently dislike you.

Note! An important task is facing a new employee in a new team for him - to learn to analyze his actions and highlight those that cause a negative reaction from colleagues.

Comprehending the art of communication, it is quite possible to acquire skills to overcome obstacles in solving sometimes difficult problems - how to adapt to a new team.

For full adaptation in a new workplace, a specialist needs from one and a half months to a year (for those for whom this is their first job, the period can last from one to one and a half years).

Of course, if you went to work in a large corporation where a competent personnel service and a mentoring system is used, the adaptation period will take less time. Unfortunately, not all companies can boast of such ideal conditions for new employees, so be prepared for anything.

There are two types of adaptation awaiting you: professional and socio-psychological.

Both the one and the other have their own stages through which the specialist passes, mastering himself in a new team for him.

The first- acquaintance. A person receives information about the new situation as a whole, about the criteria for evaluating various actions, about standards, norms of behavior.

The second- device. At this stage, the employee refocuses, recognizing the main elements new system values, but so far continues to maintain many of its attitudes.

Third stage is assimilation. The time when full adaptation to environment, you begin to identify with the new group.

Final stage- identification, when your personal goals are identified with the goals of the enterprise.

The fact that you successfully undergo professional adaptation is indicated by the following:

  • The work performed does not cause you to feel tension, fear, insecurity, if it has become habitual.
  • You have mastered and use the necessary amount of knowledge and skills required for work.
  • What you do suits your immediate supervisors.
  • You have a desire to improve in your profession, you associate your future with this work.

And now direct advice from a business coach for a speedy adaptation:

  • Before starting work, ask your co-workers and the manager if there was someone in this position before you, how much he worked, why he left, what did not suit him, what the manager and colleagues liked in the former employee.
  • Look at the documentation that the previous employee kept, try to understand its logic. When the records stopped, how the reports were regularly drawn up, whether it is convenient for the company, whether the documentation is related to the documents of other departments. If you are ready to make reporting more convenient, invite your manager to discuss it.
  • If, when trying to find out the specifics of your work from your colleagues, you are faced with a reluctance to help you, contact your supervisor. Perhaps this is a feature of the local corporate culture- the management does not delegate any authority to subordinates.

Reducing the impact of stress

Adaptive stress can play a trick on a person. In this state, you begin to behave differently from usual. You seem to regress into childish behavior: you joke inappropriately or inappropriately, you are embarrassed to ask a question, use inappropriate facial expressions and gestures, and become silent when there is a general conversation. You can try to reduce the impact of stress in the following ways:

  • Arrange your workplace so that it is convenient for you to work (and does not contradict the requirements of the company). Throw away unnecessary things left over from the previous employee. Bring from home a mug for coffee breaks, a favorite souvenir, a picture, a photo of the family.
  • Choose clothes that are similar to those worn by others, but comfortable for you.
  • Bringing snacks from home and inviting to coffee breaks not only those you like, but also other colleagues - expand your social circle.
  • Take an interest in hobbies that others are fond of, talk about your interests.
  • Take a minute to look at yourself in the mirror.
  • Sometimes a leader forgets that you are a beginner and just getting used to, and may accidentally make complaints. Listen to them carefully. Tell them that you are sorry that it happened - there was an error in the report, the deadlines were not met, the plan was not fulfilled. Ask how to avoid it next time. And politely remind you that the adaptation you are currently going through is a process that requires some time and the help of more experienced colleagues.
  • After work, find an opportunity to tell someone who is ready to listen to you and whose opinion you take into account, what excites you, annoys, laughs at work. If this is not possible, then start a diary: write down there something similar to short office stories.
  • Be sure to indulge yourself in free time- "drive" to the cinema, go to the cafe, to the park. Get plenty of rest, eat goodies and even play games or hang out on social networks.
  • Be sure to let yourself sleep.
