In the 1930s, the incidence of malaria in Russia exceeded 9 million people. The drug Akrikhin, which gave the name to the enterprise, saved the country from the outbreak of the epidemic. On October 19, 1936, the first industrial batch of Akrikhin weighing 22 kg was received. During the first years of the existence of the Chemical Plant, 6 production buildings were built and put into operation, capacities were increased tenfold, and by 1939 AKRIKHIN became the largest chemical and pharmaceutical enterprise producing the most important medicines for the population of the country: Akrikhin, White and Red Streptocide, Narcotic ether, sulfidine.

1940s:
all for the front!

The words "Everything for the front, everything for the Victory!" became the goal and meaning of the life of the plant during the war years. On the fronts of the Great patriotic war more than 1200 Akrikhinites fought. 362 people from the front did not return.

In 1941, in a record 72 hours (!) Akrikhinovites launched the production of bottles with a combustible mixture - the famous "KS" (Molotov cocktail). The production was extremely dangerous, the only salvation from burns was a moat with water, into which it was necessary to jump if the COP got on clothes or skin. Thanks to this moat at the entrance to the workshop, none of the workers were seriously injured.

IN post-war years a course was taken to restore and increase the capacity of the plant. By 1948, pharmaceutical production reached pre-war levels.

1950s:

In the 1950s, AKRIKHIN increased production capacity at an unprecedented pace, mastering about 80 items new products(both substances and finished dosage forms) and becomes the flagship of the Soviet chemical pharmaceutical industry.

During this period, AKRIKHIN launched the first antibiotic, synthomycin, and also became the first and only manufacturer of synthetic sex hormones in the country. Since 1951, AKRIKHIN has been producing substances for anti-tuberculosis drugs, and since 1953, ready-made forms in the form of tablets. To this day, AKRIKHIN is one of the country's largest manufacturers of medicines for the treatment of tuberculosis.

1960s:

By 1963, the domestic pharmaceutical industry satisfied the demand for medicines only (!) by 77%, which in those years was considered insufficient. AKRIKHIN set a course for large-scale construction and reconstruction of production. In the 60s, 6 new production buildings, a laboratory, two plant management buildings were built, and a large-scale reconstruction of seven existing buildings took place. All this was rebuilt in the conditions of a working plant and the implementation of strict plans for the production of products.

1970s:

By 1973, the construction, begun in the 60s, was completed, the workshops were gaining production capacity. The growth rate indicators were expressed in convincing figures - 75.5% in 1975 to the level of 1970, 65% - in 1980 to the level of 1975.

AKRIKHIN provided 24% of the total output of pharmaceutical substances in the USSR and supplied the substances to 44 enterprises of the country.

The 70s were the most active period for the export of medicines of the AKRIKHIN plant. IN Soviet period in the list of exporting countries

54 countries of the world were listed, i.e. finished medicinal products of the world pharmaceutical companies in some cases they were produced on the basis of active substances produced by the Soviet plant "AKRIKHIN". 1980s:

In the 1980s, the growth rate of the production volume of the AKRIKHIN plant remained high: 36.3% in 1985 to the level of 1980 and 33.3% in 1990 to the level of 1985.

In 1988, a new milestone in the history of AKRIKHIN began - work in conditions of full cost accounting and self-financing. In connection with the release of prices for energy carriers and raw materials (more than 300 types of it were used!) The production of substances became unprofitable. AKRIKHIN was looking for its development path in new economic conditions. An important step in this direction was the signing in 1988 of an agreement with KRKA (Slovenia) to launch the first cooperative project for the production of finished dosage forms. This project was a turning point in terms of the introduction of new technologies and quality finished products and predetermined the further development of the company.

1990s:
from survival
to a strategy for success

In the early 1990s, the management of the plant decided to change its profile from the unprofitable synthesis of substances (more than 75% of production) to the production of finished medicines.

In 1990, AKRIKHIN was the first company in the industry to conclude a license agreement with Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) for the production of cardiovascular drugs. As a result, in 1992, at the existing production site of AKRIKHIN, together with BMS, the country's first industrial workshop was built that fully complies with GMP standards. The 20-year collaboration between AKRIKHIN and Bristol-Myers Squibb remains the longest-term licensed project in the history of the Russian pharmaceutical industry. This project became a turning point in terms of the introduction of new technologies and predetermined the future fate of AKRIKHIN as a manufacturer of finished drugs.

In 1995, AKRIKHIN, the first among the enterprises in the industry, launched an import substitution program - the development, registration and production of drugs that are not produced in Russia. It includes 15 drugs most in demand by health care. At the same time, it was decided to produce drugs under the INN with the prefix Acre.

In 1996, with the release of the first antidiabetic drug, AKRIKHIN began to develop one of the most important areas - diabetes mellitus. In total, since that time, the company has launched 6 oral hypoglycemic drugs on the market, all of them are the company's own developments.

The transition to a new economic track was completed with the creation in 1996 of the center marketing research and began producing drugs under their own trade names.

1930s: Save the USSR

Akrikhin received its name in the 1930s in honor of the first released drug that saved the country from the malaria epidemic. Already in 1939 it was the largest chemical and pharmaceutical the country's enterprise for the production of the most important medicines: quinacrine, white and red streptocide, anesthetic ether, sulfidine.


1940s:
All for victory!

In 1941, the production of the famous "Molotov cocktails" was launched at the enterprise in a record 72 hours (!) In the extremely dangerous production of flammable bottles, the safety measures were so well organized that none of the workers were seriously injured.

More than ¼ of the Akrikhinites who went to the front died. Immediately after the war, the plant focused on the production of pharmaceutical products and by 1948 reached the pre-war level.


1950s: Flagship of the country

AKRIKHIN becomes the flagship of the Soviet chemical-pharmaceutical industry: it develops about 80 types of new substances and finished dosage forms, the first and only one in the country produces synthetic sex hormones, and begins production of the first antibiotic - synthomycin and anti-tuberculosis drugs.


1960s: Construction of the century

Under the conditions of the operating plant and the fulfillment of strict plans, a large-scale reconstruction of seven existing buildings was carried out, 6 new buildings, a laboratory, and two plant management buildings were built. AKRIKHIN receives a high government award - the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.


1970s: Takeoff in production

After the completion of construction, the growth rate of production capacity speaks for itself - 75.5% in 1975 to the level of 1970, 65% - in 1980 to the level of 1975. AKRIKHIN provides 24% of the total output of pharmaceutical substances in the USSR, supplies substances to 44 enterprises of the country and exports products to 54 countries of the world.


1980s: Modern Economy

The growth rates of production volume remain high: 36.3% in 1985 to the level of 1980 and 33.3% in 1990 to the level of 1985. A new milestone begins - work in conditions of full self-financing and self-financing. Substance production becomes unprofitable.
