Description of works... Maintenance of internal combustion engines of all systems with power up to 73.5 kW (up to 100 hp). Maintenance of installations (stations) equipped with several internal combustion engines of all systems with a total capacity of over 73.5 to 735 kW (over 100 to 1000 hp), as an assistant driver. Start, stop, regulation of engine operation. Refueling of engines, lubrication of units and auxiliary mechanisms.

Must know: the principle of operation of engines; rules for starting, stopping and servicing engines; the scheme of lubrication, power supply and cooling of engines; purpose and rules for using simple and medium-complexity control and measuring devices; grades of fuels and lubricants; location of pipelines and fittings.

Section 185. Operator of internal combustion engines (3rd category)

Description of works... Maintenance of internal combustion engines of all systems with a capacity of over 73.5 to 147 kW (over 100 to 200 hp). Must know: design, electrical and kinematic diagrams of serviced motors and auxiliary mechanisms; rules for setting and regulating instrumentation; methods of detecting malfunctions in the operation of engines and ways to eliminate them.
