What are the requirements for a social worker? Elderly care is a social service. Paid help for the elderly or free

Thanks to a significant breakthrough in medicine, life expectancy is growing steadily every year. This fact also affects the quality of life of people in general: young people need to take care of their old people and provide them with support. However, it is important that the care process is organized correctly. In the modern rhythm of life, especially in megacities, it is not so easy to do this, because sometimes there is simply not enough time for this. What to do if time does not allow caring for your elderly loved one?

About caring for an elderly person

With the onset of retirement age, the well-being of even the once-healthiest person can be significantly shaken. Such diseases are often found that make it difficult for a pensioner to continue to live independently. In this case, his next of kin should come to his aid. The ideal situation is in which the care does not affect or complicate the life of the family.

Elderly care features:

Caring for an elderly person is not the easiest thing to do, both physically and morally. It requires a lot of preparation and someone who will take care of the elderly person. Such a person should have both time and in cash, and psychological resources.

The caregiver must understand that the well-being and feelings of the pensioner depend on him to a very large extent, so he must be able to control his own emotions, because sometimes old people behave rudely and unfairly towards others. It is important to understand that this is not done out of malice, but only because a person can no longer control himself.

Important! The caregiver should always be in the elderly's access area: even in cases when they part for a while, for example, the caregiver goes to the store, they should be able to contact each other.

Elderly care is not just about taking medication and taking care of your physical well-being. The caregiver should create the most friendly atmosphere around the old man, entertain him, tell stories, go for a walk with him, watch TV and play games.

The old man should not feel as if he is in a hospital room. It is important for him to feel needed. If a close relative who does not have a special education will be caring for a pensioner, then it may be better for him to prepare and read some literature or look for information on the Internet on how to better organize care and, in general, the way of life in such a situation.

Note! It is most important for the caregiver to tune in to the positive. If this is a parent, you do not need to openly show him your experiences, no matter how hard it may be. We must continue to live on and lead, if not the same as before, then at least a way of life close to it. There will be more various problems, but usually this is a chance to become closer and dearer with your, albeit elderly, parents.

Who is a social worker

Material help

Sometimes life circumstances are formed in such a way that there is no one to look after the pensioner. Perhaps his loved ones do not have time, or he is just lonely. In such life situation social protection for pensioners should come to his aid. Such services are provided not only in Moscow and the Moscow region, but also in other cities: Nizhny and Velikiy Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Togliatti, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg and so on.

First you need to figure out who the social worker is supposed to be. Absolutely all pensioners can turn to him for help, that is, women over 55 years old and men over 60 years old. Such services are also provided to people with disabilities, regardless of age. A pensioner can request various help: someone only needs help with the housework, for example, he cannot go shopping, clean the apartment or carry out any other household chores on his own, but someone needs complete care and constant control over his life.

On a note. Some retirees offer nurses to live in their apartment, for some it is enough for her to come several times a week, for others it is important that the nurse can be called at home at any time. Seniors have different needs, so different services are provided.

Help for the elderly is provided both material and moral. If a pensioner is in a difficult financial situation, then the tasks of social workers include both providing him with food and paying for housing. Most often, the basis of such assistance to the elderly is charitable foundations... Their budget is made up of donations from ordinary citizens who are not indifferent to troubles.

This problem is also regulated by federal center... At the national level, presentations and projects on the topic of helping the elderly are being created, new options for organizing the work of social workers are being proposed, criteria are being created, based on which care for the elderly should be provided. Special benefits are being created for the elderly who need timely assistance from various services.

Old people are provided with sanatorium and resort treatment without additional payment at the expense of the city or state. Rest is provided in the best sanatoriums, where all the old equipment has long been replaced by new ones, where the staff is polite and modern, where all the conditions for better life old people.

Social service

Social workers do not appear just like that: they all undergo special training, many have medical education... Only highly responsible people who treat older people with respect and love are allowed to work. An employee's experience in this area does not really matter. At the same time, volunteers who have undergone consultations and training often provide assistance to the elderly.

The services keep a close eye on every retiree and employee who arranges for their care. At the request of a pensioner or disabled person, his nurse can be replaced. Social assistance to retirees is primarily aimed at comfort and providing positive impressions, rather than making a profit.

How is assistance provided, how to register social workers at home

The Moscow government assigns the following responsibilities to the social worker:

  • providing support for a pensioner in everyday situations;
  • support during leisure activities (walks, conversations, board games etc.);
  • cleaning, washing, ironing, etc .;
  • payment for various services;
  • assistance in contacting medical institutions.

Important! Any cash expenditures are carried out at the expense of the pensioner. Aid is rarely provided from the reserves of charitable foundations.

Assistance to retirees is also provided in a different form. Often a voucher to a sanatorium is provided free of charge for pensioners (sometimes it can be provided with a large discount). Rest in such places helps to improve the well-being of the old man.

To get an assistant, a pensioner must personally come to the social authority at the place of residence (he will be an intermediary between the pensioner and the nurse). Further, the application is received by the social service for the care of the elderly. This entire procedure is regulated by the Federal Law. When an employee is found, an agreement is concluded between the parties for a period of 3 months to a year.

A new contract can be concluded only after the expiration of the old one. The agreement clearly states the grounds for its validity and termination, what is included in the list of services provided, what rights and obligations both parties have, who regulates this agreement and what result of joint work is expected. It also states that a social service employee has no right to claim the inheritance of any pensioner's property, even if he is alone.

Note! Most often, the contract is concluded 10-14 days after the application. After the conclusion of the contract, social workers for retirees can start performing their duties.

Pension Fund

Not only the nurse, but also the pensioner himself is entitled to an additional payment. If his income is lower living wage for a specific region, then such a pensioner is considered to be eligible for the FSD (federal social payment). You can get it from the Pension Fund.

When caring for older people, the caregiver is eligible to qualify for some preferential benefits and payments. To do this, you need to contact the specific pension authority that issues a pension to this old man.

Cases in which a caregiver can qualify for benefits:

  • the ward is over 80 years old;
  • he has a medical opinion that he can no longer carry out an independent life and needs the help of an outside person;
  • availability of a document on disability of the first group.

Note! A caregiver appointed by a social authority has every right to simultaneously care for several pensioners, and the care payments are increased accordingly.

Minors can also provide care. In this case, to standard documents you must attach a certificate from educational institution, as well as the consent of the parents to the implementation of such activities by their child.

List of required documents:

  • the nurse's statement;
  • an elderly person's statement;
  • a document confirming that such a payment is assigned for the first time;
  • medical report, as well as a conclusion social bodies confirming that a specific person of retirement age needs this kind of support;
  • passports and work books both sides;
  • an extract from the applicant's personal account.

After checking all the documents, the nurse is assigned definite payment, which is credited to her account every month from the beginning to the end of caring for a pensioner.

Important! In case of improper or ineffective performance of their duties, payments are stopped, and the nurse is suspended from work.

Caring for the elderly is a great responsibility and hard work... In addition to the willingness to help materially, such a person must also have a number of psychological qualities that not everyone has. Basic knowledge of elderly care and a medical background is also desirable. Gratitude for such work is expressed not only materially, but also morally.

With proper care, old people change before our eyes, they thank a person for the help who becomes a truly real friend to them, and the state tries its best to support such people by paying benefits and offering various benefits.
