The motion detector analyzes the image from the overview camera and issues commands for the PTZ camera - now the control is fully automatic. However, now developers are using the capabilities of not only modern detectors, but also video cameras. And cameras have the ability not only to work with presets, but also to execute direct commands for setting along certain coordinates; they are also fast enough.
